Federal Response to US Tariff Measures

The federal government has announced a $6.5 billion support package in response to new U.S. tariffs, focusing on manufacturing, agriculture, and exports. While these measures do not directly include the travel industry, ACTA is monitoring potential secondary impacts, such as reduced cross-border travel and tourism spending. One area where some travel businesses may qualify for support is the enhanced EI Work-Sharing Program, which offers temporary special measures for employers facing tariff-related disruptions.
