ACTA has submitted its recommendations on the proposed amendments to the Air Passenger Protection Regulations (APPR) in Canada Gazette, Part I. After consulting with members and industry stakeholders, ACTA emphasized the importance of balancing consumer protection with operational realities, especially as the travel sector continues its recovery. Key recommendations include limiting travel advisory refund provisions to Level 4 advisories affecting the airport region, simplifying documentation requirements for claim rejections, and replacing the mandatory hotel booking requirement with a reimbursement model to better accommodate regional challenges.
