ACTA has named Patrice Malacort as Acting Membership Manager Québec while Manon Martel is on an extended leave of absence. Malacort, an ACTA Member and Québec Regional Advisory Committee Member, will assist with Québec-related advocacy, member networking and education events as well as member acquisition. Elizabeth Robitaille has joined ACTA as Member Services Coordinator. Elizabeth will work closely with the membership team to support Francophone members, respond to French-language consumer inquiries, assist with member events, and provide administrative support to the Québec Regional Advisory Committee. ACTA focused on Quebec advocacy priorities
Over the past few months, the ACTA national leadership team has worked in close collaboration with the ACTA Quebec Regional Council to ensure the priorities of Quebec members are fully supported.

Serge Malaison, ACTA’s Regional Advisory Committee Chair and Québec representative on the ACTA National Board of Directors continues to be available for any regional advocacy-related matters-- along with Avery Campbell, ACTA’s Director of Advocacy and Industry Relations.

ACTA’s key priorities in Quebec are:

  • OPC Modernization: Engaging with stakeholders to support the modernization of the Office of Consumer Protection (OPC).
  • Regulatory Red Tape Reduction: Advocating for streamlined regulations across all areas of provincial government programs to enhance efficiency and support the travel industry.
  • Privacy Rule Education: Delivering education initiatives to ensure compliance with evolving privacy regulations.
  • Fraud Prevention: Maintaining a strong emphasis on combating fraud through awareness and prevention strategies.
