Warning: Fraud Alert

One of our members brought a fraud case to ACTA’s attention so that we might pass it on to all of our members. The person was a corporate traveller who dealt with the agency regularly, however his usual agent was not available so another agent was dealing with him. The traveller was trying to book two tickets from Dubai to Lahore for the same day. He wanted to stay on the phone with the agent while she processed the tickets, as he claimed that he would be out of cell reach shortly. The agent became suspicious and called the client back on the number listed on his profile, while keeping the other caller on hold. The actual traveller informed her that his iPad had been stolen recently and that someone was posing as him. When the agent returned to the original caller and asked him to reconfirm his identity, he hung up on her.
