Introduction

The Association of Canadian Travel Agencies and Travel Advisors (Hereinafter referred to as “ACTA”) is committed to protecting your privacy and the confidentially of your information. We collect information when you become a member of our Association and during renewal of your membership, either as a Retail, Allied, Certified or Independent Travel Advisor member.

ACTA Privacy Statement 

ACTA does not disclose personal information to third parties, except as indicated on the ACTA web site or in policies available from the ACTA head office.

ACTA expressly reserves the right to cooperate with local, provincial and national officials in any investigation requiring either personal information, including any personal information provided online through our web site or reports about lawful or unlawful user activities on this site.

ACTA also reserves the right to change this Policy at any time. You "the user” will be notified of such changes through disclosure on the ACTA web site. We also reserve the right to disclose any information in an individual's account:

Governing Law and Jurisdiction
The Website (excluding linked websites) is controlled by ACTA from its offices within the Province of Ontario, Canada. The Web Site can be accessed from all provinces and territories of Canada, as well as from other countries around the world. The information we collect may be used in any or all of the following ways:

ACTA respects the privacy of its members and implements security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information. ACTA does not collect any information without knowing why.

Employee access to member information

The number of people who view or process information is limited, reducing the risk of inappropriate use or disclosure of personal information.

Outside party disclosures

We do not trade, sell or transfer your information to outside parties however at times may share data and trends with  our partners to understand what business programs our members are  interested or enrolled in, and help ACTA enhance the business savings programs which we are able to offer our members.

Consent

Consent is voluntary agreement and can be either express or implied. Express consent is given explicitly, either orally or in writing. It is unequivocal and does not require any inference on the part of the organization seeking consent. Implied consent arises where the consent may reasonably be inferred from the action or inaction of the individual.

Changes to our Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to change this Privacy Policy at any time at our sole discretion. We will inform you of any such change by posting a new Privacy Policy on this website and clearly marking the effective date of any such change to the Privacy Policy.
